Sunday March 25, 1pm – Hoot Workshop
Words + Visual Art- a workshop/exploration – Writing and art can be combined in surprising ways–beyond mere “illustration.”
In this workshop, we will explore the ways words and visuals can be combined. We will examine several exciting, surprising examples of such combinations, and then we will try our hands at either 1) writing words to enhance a visual, 2) making art to enhance words, or 3) creating both words and art for the same piece! Afterwards, we will discuss this process, and what has emerged. The editors of HOOT hootreview.com)–a mixed-media literary magazine–will offer their thoughts, feedback and experience.
No writing or art experience necessary– all levels welcome! Please bring something to write with (laptops encouraged). We will provide supplies for basic drawing and collage. Please bring any other art supplies, if desired.
