The Brother’s Network invites you to join us for The Storyteller’s Series, a celebration of African American short fiction through the voices of Philly’s premier performance poets. The Storyteller Series’ goal is to interest interest in the short fiction genre by having the exciting voices of area poets bring every character to life. Please join us for a afternoon of full laughter and chin stroking contemplation as the best authors around are brought to life on the stage. Focusing on the theme “Birthdays and Funerals,” this month’s edition features the work of Toni Morrison, Paulette Childless White and Amiri Baraka. These works will be interpreted by poets Skribbly LaCroix, Lee Scott, and Victoria Purefoy. Hosted by Warren Longmire, co-founder of the Excellano Project Spoken word group and 2009 member of the Philadelphia Slam Poetry Team.
