SOCIALISM AND SENSUALITY
Stelle Sheller and Jan Young will share photographs and impressions of their recent trip to Cuba – As members of Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom, these women traveled legally under the auspices of Global Exchange. The focus of the trip was Women and Sustainable Development. They met with many Cuban women, listening, questioning, and learning in an effort to cross the cultural divide. The trip afforded them the opportunity to explore the mystique surrounding Cuba that has been ingrained in the U.S. psyche. It is a land of socialism and sensuality and all the contradictions that result.
