Mentor & Mentored: Feat. Harriet Millan w/ Dawn McDougall

Tuesday November 13, 7pm – Poetry Moonstone Poetry Series Presents Mentor and Mentored Feat. Harriet Millan w/ Dawn McDougall Harriet Millan's debut collection, The Christmas Show, was the winner of the Barnard New Women Poets Prize and the Poetry Society of America's Alice Fay di Castagnola Award. Her second book, Girl in Cap and Gown, was a 2009 National Poetry Series Finalist. Recent poetry and fiction appear in The Iowa Review, The Kenyon Review, Great River Review, The Harvard Review and Ploughshares.  She is director of the Certificate Program in Writing and Publishing in the English Department at Drexel University. Dawn McDougall is a student at Drexel University studying Environmental Marketing, and she is in the Certificate in Writing and Publishing Program. Her writing is influenced by beat, lyric, contemporary and narrative poetry styles. Dawn's work has been featured in Drexel's literary magazine Maya and in various readings across West Philadelphia. She is currently working on a compilation of poems detailing her journeys and experiences from her native California to Philadelphia. Share
